Activities include:

A: Tour of the Hong Kong Film Archive (HKAF)'s permanent exhibition 'In Memory of Queen's Theatre' at the Foyer, HKFA and the following thematic exhibitions at the Exhibition Hall, HKFA:

1. Coming to a Theatre Near You – Gems of Hong Kong Film Trailers (September – October 2024)
A 'teaser' or 'trailer' is an advertisement for a film, tempting prospective viewers by setting up a good hook.  Cutting a film trailer is a major test of an editor's abilities.  An unprecedented showcase of Hong Kong film trailers, the exhibition will feature over 100 trailers from the 1940s to the present day, tracking the key trends and changes in the development of the local industry, including film styles, genres, directors, and stars.  The exhibition will also include videos of interviews with veteran directors, editors, and film promotion professionals on production of film trailers.

2. Penning Moving Images: Hong Kong, Literature, Films (January – February 2025)
The association between the literature and films of Hong Kong can be traced a long way back in history.  Apart from adapting literary works into films, some writers ventured into the film industry, enriching the content and style of film productions.  This interaction has extended to multiple media platforms.  The exhibition will illustrate some renowned filmmakers who have served multiple roles as writer, screenwriter, director or lyricist, offering insight into the unique characteristics that have emerged from the convergence of Hong Kong's film industry and writers across different eras.

B: Screening of a video introducing the work of the HKFA followed by a talk on film repair and conservation work by film technicians at the Cinema, HKFA.
