PAM03a-c | "Love music, Love the Earth" by the Music Office (Completed)parent

About the Programme

The basic concept of environmental protection comes from the love to our home "the Earth" and our earnest efforts to preserve the beauty of nature.  It is common for composers from then and now to express their admiration for the beauty of nature in music with themes related to the seasonal climates, sounds of nature, and animals.  The Music Office Instructors' Chinese Orchestra, Instructors' String Orchestra and Instructors' Wind Orchestra will give praise to the nature with a rendition of Chinese and Western ensemble music to arouse students' environmental awareness.

About the Music Office

Established in October 1977 by the Government, the Music Office promotes knowledge and appreciation of music in the community, especially among young people, through the provision of instrumental and ensemble training and the organisation of various music activities with a view to building a new generation of concert audiences.  It has come under the management of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department since January 2000.

The Music Office has organised the "Music for the Millions" (MFM) Concerts since December 1977, which aims to familiarise students with Chinese and Western orchestral instruments and to stimulate their interest in fine music.  During the school year, the Music Office Instructors' Ensembles give regular MFM Concerts in primary and secondary schools with educational and entertaining programmes.  Aside from the school tour, the Music Office also arrange MFM Concerts at the LCSD performance venues, which allows students to enjoy the music in a professionally equipped concert hall.  The theme of the 2024/25 School Culture Day Scheme "Music for the Millions" Concerts is "Love music, Love the Earth".
