About the Programme

To promote Chinese culture, the Chinese Culture Festival presents "Chinese Culture for All: A Special Performance Series" for students, offering them a chance to experience firsthand the magnificence of Chinese cultural artistry.

This year's Chinese Opera Festival curates The Series with Xi'an Performing Arts Group's Youth Experimental Troupe of Qinqiang Opera during their Hong Kong debut.  The troupe will perform selected excerpts from Qinqiang classics: Returning to Jingzhou and Zhou Ren on the Way Home, accompanied by easy-to-follow demonstrations and guided appreciation, allowing students to closely experience Qinqiang Opera.

An ancient art form also known as Luantan, Qinqiang is one of Xi'an's most representative opera genres.  Featuring powerful vocals and intense emotional expression, its profound influence on Chinese opera development makes it a must-see performance.
