M06c | Tomb in the City - Lei Cheung Uk Han Tomb

Tour

The Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb was discovered in 1955 when the Hong Kong Government was levelling a hill slope for the construction of resettlement buildings at Lei Uk Village and Cheng Uk Village.  Based on the overall structural layout, inscriptions on the bricks and other finds, it is believed that the tomb was built in the Eastern Han dynasty (AD 25-220).  Our docent will introduce the geographical circumstances, discoveries, tomb structure and the artefacts associated with the tomb, to encourage the students to learn more about the society and culture of South China during the Han dynasty.
