About the Programme 

Having evolved beyond its 30th anniversary, YAMATO: The Drummers of Japan embarks on a world tour with Hinotori – The Wings of Phoenix, showcasing a breathtaking display of the power and grace at the heart of the taiko tradition.  Over 40 drums thunder across the stage, including the colossal 'Odaiko' – a 2-metre-diameter, 500kg drum crafted from a 400-year-old tree – enveloping audience in rhythmic intensity and electrifying soundscapes.  With masterful musical arrangements, extraordinary athleticism, vivid costumes and captivating stage effects, Hinotori brings to life a powerful narrative of resilience and hope, leaving a lasting impression through sheer passion and intensity.
